There are many beautiful things to see and exciting things to do in the land of Tango. Argentina has given us so much: soccer legends, unforgettable music, and important contributions to science and medicine. Now, the country’s influence is also reaching the investment migration world, since the government is about to launch a new CBI program, which was announced for the first time over a year ago.

For this reason, it seems that IMI has made the perfect choice when deciding the host for the tenth edition of IMI Connect: the inspiring Buenos Aires.

Our CEO, Liliya Soboleva, wouldn’t miss it for the world, so she is getting ready to travel, make new contacts, share knowledge, and get acquainted with the city’s rich historical heritage.

About IMI Connect

The prestigious investment migration portal, IMI Daily, organizes this yearly event, which (according to IMI) is not a conference; it’s a gathering.

IMI Connect is not like the typical forum, lecture, or expo; it’s a private meeting of senior professionals who discuss key aspects of the CBI sector. Attendees have the opportunity to connect with potential partners, listen to the industry icons, and get off-the-record advice, rather than visiting dozens of booths and hearing why this program is better than the next one.

IMI Connect is purely about the migration investment sector, its most relevant information, its recent updates, and, most importantly, its most experienced professionals.

Instead of sitting through endless lectures, eventgoers engage in debates, share their perspectives, and provide their insights on amended regulations, recently launched and existing programs, and other related matters.

IMI Connect lands in Buenos Aires for its 10th edition

In 2026, IMI Connect is celebrating its 10th edition in Argentina's capital, from November 2nd to November 4th.

On day one, professionals will have the chance to break the ice over some cocktails at one of the city’s most iconic sites: the Hipódromo de Palermo. This was Buenos Aires’s first formal horse racing center, opening in 1876, and soon becoming a symbol of the Belle Époque “porteña”. Now, it’s the perfect setting for the IMI Connect’s opening, with its elegant salons and opulent French Neoclassical architecture.

The second day will be the core of IMI Connect, that is, the day on which attendees will engage in off-the-record conversations and instructive debates. This time, the setting will be La Rural, a 45,000-square-meter covered exhibition venue, famous for hosting prestigious events like the Buenos Aires Book Fair.

Attendees will get the chance to visit one of the most stunning places in the South American capital: Palacio Paz. This is where the gala and trivia contest will take place, surrounded by the imposing Beaux-Arts layouts of the gallery and the ballroom, the exquisite stained-glass windows, and the outstanding pieces of art.

Palacio Paz symbolizes the opulence of Argentine society in the first half of the 20th century, and was commissioned by José C. Paz. Paz was the Argentine ambassador to France between 1883 and 1885. Inspired by his time in the City of Light, he set out to build a palace of enormous size in comparison with other private properties at the time.

The IMI Connect closure will take place on November 4th with a brunch at the Puerto Madero Yacht Club, in a neighborhood famous for its exclusive feel and high-end real estate.

Our CEO is getting ready to visit the land of tango

Liliya won’t miss the chance to attend such a significant gathering for the CBI industry. Last year, she was present at IMI Connect Barcelona, where she met other experts and exchanged opinions and insights. Now, she's traveling to Buenos Aires in early November for a similar experience.

Being a gathering mainly oriented towards senior professionals from the CBI world, our CEO fits perfectly. She runs Mundo, a global service provider focused on investment migration and other strategies for the international business person.

Liliya and our team have ample knowledge when it comes to CBI in the Caribbean, Vanuatu, São Tomé and Príncipe, and residency by investment in Panama.

Why Argentina?

Almost three years after Javier Milei took his seat as the country’s leader, Argentina’s investment potential has been growing, and now it seems to be consolidated in a new citizenship-by-investment program.

Low real estate prices, a cultivated and capable workforce, and a solid position in the Mercosur are quite appealing to foreign investors, who may see this new program as a key that opens many doors. Besides, Argentina is considered the Spanish-speaking country with the highest level of English, even ahead of Spain.

Although the program was announced over a year ago, only in early October did the government announce its implementation.

What do we know about the Argentine CBI?

President Milei announced his intention to establish a CBI program in May 2025, and only a month later he formalized it through Decree 524/2025. Just a few weeks ago, the government announced that they expect applications to open during the fourth quarter of 2026.

He also revealed the program’s routes and minimum investments: 1) a non-refundable contribution to the National Treasury (minimum contribution of USD 350,000) or 2) the purchase of a government security (minimum USD 800,000).

Some experts are wondering about the pricing contrast between the River Plate Region and the longstanding Caribbean alternatives. Furthermore, the contribution of USD 350,000 in Argentina covers one single applicant, while its Caribbean counterparts usually include a family of four.

However, specialists state that the Argentine CBI will cater to very different applicants. Those who turn to the Caribbean are mainly seeking a flexible nationality. In Argentina, they will find a nation with a strong economic position, a deeply cultured background, best-in-class education, and developed infrastructure.

What remains to be seen is how they will handle due diligence and marketing aspects such as agent oversight and accepted advertising practices. It’s likely that some of these matters will be discussed behind closed doors on November 3rd in Buenos Aires.

Who we are and what we can do for you

As we mentioned earlier, Mundo is an international provider dedicated to services for the global citizen and investor. Our scope goes beyond residency and citizenship by investment: we also specialize in company incorporation, bank account opening, trusts, and real estate.

Although we are a multicultural, multilingual team, spread across different countries, we have a physical office in Panama City, and our CEO and many of our team members are based in Panama.

At the beginning of next week, our CEO will fly from Panama to Argentina, from the Pacific coastline to the quaint riverwalk by the Rio de la Plata. Once again, she’ll be part of the IMI Connect experience, this time with her mind set on the new opportunities the South American nation is opening.
