Reasons why we love the Grenadian passport
- Citizenship applications are processed as fast as lightning. The process takes less than 90 days.
- The Grenadian passport allows you to enter more than 133 countries without a visa, including China, Russia, Schengen countries, the UK, and Singapore.
- Virtually the entire family of the principal applicant is eligible for the CBI program. The unmarried siblings of the principal applicant can be included, as well as their unmarried, dependent children up to 30 years old. Parents and grandparents are also eligible as long as they are dependents of the principal applicant.
- Grenada's government doesn't require your physical presence to apply for citizenship. Your passport can be shipped to your homeplace.
- Grenada does not require you to do an interview or have any particular academic or job experience.
- The applicant has the right to sell their property after five years and secondary purchases of CBI-approved properties.
- You better sit down or hold on to something before reading this: Grenada is a country under an E-2 visa treaty with the US, which means that approved applicants can live and operate a business in the US by making the proper application for an E-2 visa.
Citizenship by Investment through Kimpton Kawana Bay is fast, financially sound, and provides global access opportunities that other CBI programs around the world simply cannot rival. Here you will find a brochure for more information. Kawana Bay Brochure
Why citizenship by real estate investment with Mundo?
Mundo is careful to pick only the best developers with an unparalleled track record to offer exclusive offers through our portal. Thanks to our partnership, we can offer deals you would not get through a real estate agent.
Today we offer a special thing. It's the sort of unique Caribbean investment that you can enjoy for years to come and will also provide you with a solid return while giving you an almost free passport.
Mundo has appointed the developers of this project as our Grenada's country expert. Our readers will receive tailored attention regarding any questions they may have.
Grenada sits right between the unexplored and the contemporary. It boasts a rich history, otherworldly breaches, forested mountains, and beautiful waterfalls with never-ending calm rivers.
Nevertheless, the primary attraction here is not the crystalline waters or cultural diversity, but its flavors. The island gained the name of the spice island due to its production of spices. You will not be able to overlook the aromas of nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, and allspice at every corner.
However, for the clear-sighted, Grenada has something even better: its CBI program, which is widely considered the best CBI program in the Caribbean, and we agree for the reasons we already mentioned above.
However, there are also other appealing, more broad reasons why Grenada is a popular pick.
No worldwide income tax
Grenada is one of those strange countries with a territorial tax system for residents. You only pay income tax on your Grenada-sourced income, and you don't have to pay income tax over your worldwide tax in any other country.
If that isn't enough for you, Grenada does not levy inheritance, capital gains, or international dividends tax.
A privileged location
Grenada is at the south of the Caribbean hurricane belt, which protects it from them. Grenada has suffered from some hurricanes, but they don't generally destroy everything in their path as it usually happens with most Caribbean islands.
Your entire family is eligible for Grenada's CBI program
Grenada has one of the most open, if not the most, CBI programs in the world. In most countries, you can only include your spouse, dependent children, and sometimes parents. In Grenada, you can include them, but also grandparents, in-laws (and also grandparents-in-law), dependent children over 30-years-old, and even unmarried siblings.
The E-2 visa
The best benefit of Grenada's CBI over the other Caribbean programs is that it makes you available to apply for an E-2 visa that will allow you to invest, work, and live in the US with your family. Grenada is the only Caribbean CBI that offers this advantage, and the lowest-cost option among the CBI programs that offers this possibility. Montenegro, Cyprus, Malta, and Turkey also offer it, but for higher prices.
Details of the program
First, we must discuss how much it cost to have a Grenadian passport. It depends. There are two main gateways towards receiving the Grenadian citizenship:
Donation:
The first way to receive the passport is through a non-refundable donation to the GNTF (Grenada National Transformation Fund). The donation must be for $150,000 if it is only for yourself and $200,000 for a family of four.
Real estate:
The second way to apply to the CBI is through real estate investment. You must consider the following:
- The investment must be in a government-approved project.
- The minimum investment amount is $220,000.
- You can resell the title-deeded property after five years of obtaining the passport.
Both options are valid, but we generally recommend going for the real estate option, especially if you're looking for the E-2 visa as it will show you have a link with Grenada. We'll discuss this in detail ahead.
Fees
- Additional dependent after the third: $25,000
- Application fee: $1,500 per person
- Due diligence fee: $5,000 per adult, none per dependent child under 16-years-old
- Processing fee: $1,500 per person
You can read more about the fees on the official website of the program here
Requirements
- The main applicant must be at least eighteen years old.
- Certificate of good health.
- Police clearance.
- Proof of source of funds.
Application process
The process is simple and takes somewhere between 60 and 90 days, provided you have all the necessary documents. This is an incredibly swift timing, even by Caribbean standards. Let's break down the process:
Step one. The first is a preliminary review. Choose the pathway you wish to follow and sign a contract with our experts.
Step 2. Now we can prepare the application. Here the applicant must pay the due diligence fee plus 10% of the real estate project.
Step 3. Our experts will submit your application and documents to the citizenship by investment agency.
Step 4. Just wait. After submitting the application, just wait for the approval. It takes about two months.
Step 5. When the Grenadian government approves the applications, it is time to pay the rest of the investment and the fees. Afterwards, the agency will issue your certificate of naturalization, and your agent will receive your passport on your behalf to send it to you, or wait until you travel to Grenada to receive it.

What sets apart the Grenadian CBI program from the rest? The American E-2 Visa
If you thought that Grenada was the best choice after reading everything, let us tell you that it gets better.
One of the most compelling benefits of the program is that you can apply for an American E-2 visa. This visa, also widely known as the investment visa, will allow you to work, live, and do business in the US freely.
Grenada signed an E-2 treaty with the US in 1983 when Ronald Reagan was the President of the United States. Dozens of CBI holders are approved for the E-2 visa each year, and Grenada is the only Caribbean CBI that offers you this possibility.
The visa means you must develop a business in the US However, there is not a minimum investment, but most experts agree it should be somewhere around $100,000. The visa is granted for five years and can be renewed indefinitely as long as you keep your business operating in the US.
Firstly, the applicant must prove ties to Grenada, and that's why we recommend you to receive the Grenadian passport through real estate investment as it will immediately show a nexus to the country.
It is also likely that they may require the applicant to have a minimum level of proficiency in English to show you can successfully do business in the US.
The spouse of the E-2 applicant can work freely in the US, and their children under 21 are eligible for in-state tuition in most US states, which means they can study in an American university for a way lesser price.
Also, processing times are fast. An application generally takes about two months to process. This means that the entire processing period, from receiving the Grenadian citizenship to receiving the E-2 visa, is between six and eight months.
Also, the costs of obtaining Grenadian citizenship and the E-2 visa can be around $400,000 for a family of four.
You can be doing business in the US in seven months if you start your application to the Grenadian CBI program and follow it with an E-2 visa application.

St George´s University - Another reason to acquire Grenadian citizenship
People value different things, and these things constitute the reason why someone would choose one CBI over another. What are people looking for when they apply for a second citizenship?
Some may value safety over everything else and this is why they choose a second passport strategy because they do not want to be limited by the regulations of their home country. Others may value the ease to do business and would probably choose a passport that allows them to enter the EU market, like Malta. Those who have a large family and would like to include them in the application will most likely choose the Grenada passport which allows for the inclusion of siblings, parents, and grandparents.
For people with families, education is usually an important factor when it comes to choosing the right CBI. The possibility of providing children with access to good tuition is a priority factor for many, and Grenada also happens to be a place where you can find excellent opportunities in this regard. This section is about St. George’s University.
Education with a global perspective and outstanding performance
St. George’s University is a private international institution located in Grenada that offers a variety of career possibilities. At this university, you can obtain your degree in medicine, veterinary medicine, nursing, arts and science, and business.
The University was founded in 1976 and since then it has become one of the most prestigious educational centers of the Caribbean, offering a unique cosmopolitan environment, excellent facilities, and advanced technology.
This institution´s high level of education is reflected in the performance of its graduates. Students from Grenada University who took the USMLE 1 for the first time in 2018 achieved a 96% success rate. USMLE stands for “United States Medical License Examination” and it is an exam that must be taken by every med student that wishes to acquire a medical license in the United States.
During the last 8 years, St George´s University has been the main provider of doctors entering the first year of US medical residencies and its graduates have obtained more than 830 residency positions in the US only in 2018. SGU graduates usually get employment in their preferred areas of practice like surgery, radiology, and other highly wanted positions.
The medical school of the SGU has excellent facilities on campus fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology and providing students with research rooms, labs, libraries, and lecture halls. Half of the University’s medicine program is focused on practice and students have the chance to acquire meaningful experience by doing medical rotations in hospitals and medical centers from the US, Canada, and the UK.
The possibility of regularly accessing practical training in international medical centers is surely one of the factors that make the tuition level of the SGU one of the best in the region. Many students come from different parts of the world to study not only medicine but also other professions at this important university.
Student enrollment and benefits for citizens
The SGU undoubtedly constitutes another excellent reason why someone would choose the Grenada CBI over others. At Saint George’s University, Grenadian citizens are given special benefits.
This university also receives many international students which is one of the reasons it enjoys such a diverse and cosmopolitan environment. Tuition is open for citizens all over the world and from any educational system, with programs that adapt to every previous degree.
There is a 4-year program for those who enter with a baccalaureate degree, and 5, 6, and 7-year programs for those candidates entering with international degrees. There are also undergraduate programs available. Thus, the SGU welcomes everyone in its commitment to form highly qualified and internationally prepared professionals.
The students of this institution are mainly American (68%) and from Grenada, Canada, Trinidad and Tobago, and India. Maybe this is why Grenada has very good connections with Europe with a direct flight to and from the UK four times a week and a weekly flight to and from Germany (seasonal).
SGU also supports talent and hard work by providing scholarships. Around 28% of each entering class is awarded a scholarship.
And last but not least, let us describe the advantages and benefits for Grenadian citizens:
-90% discount for undergraduate programs including pre-medical and pre-veterinarian courses. In order to access this discount, citizens must have lived for at least a year in Grenada.
-65% discount scholarship for the first year of the undergraduate program for citizens who have not lived for one year in the island’s territory.
-A Grenada citizen can apply to the 65% scholarship for the first year and the second year (after studying and living in Grenada for 1 year) still access the 90% discount benefit.
To this date, the SGU has granted more than 5000 scholarships.
Undoubtedly, St George´s University adds a great deal of value to the Grenada passport, especially to the applicants interested in high-quality tuition for them or their family members. Contact our experts and apply to the Grenada program now.
