Montenegro has been branded for its mysterious beauty since its Roman times when many emperors built palaces across its shores. It has been far known as Europe’s best-kept secret as it is an ideal place for resting and restoring oneself, with beautiful beaches, a calm ambiance a business-friendly environment and stable economy. It has been long known as one of the ecological wonders of Europe.

The Black Mountains, whose name comes from the 14th Century as it has bathed by firs that held its tops in capes of darkness. Now, the darkness has been blown away, exposing white trails of snow and limestone as if it signified the past and future of Montenegro.

Montenegro’s beauty can be compared with that of Greece: heavenly beaches, thundering landscapes and architectonical marvels, but without the refugee crisis and the economic woes.

Montenegro is a country in Southeastern Europe in the Balkan Region. The country has a Roman, Venetian and Ottoman past, and was part of the Yugoslav Kingdom and, afterward, it was a Socialist Republic.

After the country dissolved in 1992 and the Balkan wars finished, the country formed a federation with Serbia, which ended in 2006 when the country declared its independence after a referendum. The country successfully joined the World Bank, the IMF, the WTO and, in 2017, the NATO. Montenegro is an official candidate for EU membership, and its set to join it in 2025. 

Montenegro is the last country to start a CBI program. How will it attract investors with such successful programs already existing in Malta and Cyprus? Well, firstly, Montenegro will also join the EU in 2025. Secondly, its plan is way cheaper. And thirdly, Montenegro has the lowest personal and corporate tax rates in Europe in a friendly business environment.

Montenegro may be the last El Dorado for tourism investment in Europe. It’s a potential year-long tourist destination for its crystalline beaches by the Adriatic Sea and its snow-covered mountains perfect for skiers on the north.

The pro-business reforms of the government and its attractive tax regime have called the attention of many investors. Furthermore, the citizenship by investment program the government announced in 2018 has kept many people wanting to know more about Montenegro and seeing if they can invest in this beautiful Balkan country.
